We are proud to be part of the Dovestone Learning Partnership
Since the launch on 1st October 2017, the group has been very busy.
There are several projects involving collaboration between our primary school and Saddleworth school.
Year 5&6 are involved in a ‘story telling’ music project with Saddleworth school based around the BBC Ten Pieces III, our chosen piece is the Water Goblin. All the schools will perform at a showcase concert in July at Saddleworth School.
To raise aspirations we are again working in conjunction with Saddleworth School on a literacy poetry writing project- the staff and pupils from the school have been in to work with our children as inspiration. The work will be submitted as a competition and the winning entries will be read out at the Saddleworth Literary Festival at the end of March. A glossy magazine will be created with the winning entries and photos.
There is a Year 5 Maths challenge starting after half term for our schools- each school will compete during one afternoon and the winning team from each school will attend the final at Saddleworth School on Wed 4th July.
All the Head teachers have been involved in peer reviews with an external consultant and one of the Heads from the group of schools carrying out a full day review of the school focusing on strengths and areas to work on. This has been an extremely valuable experience and will enable us to go from strength to strength.
